![]() ![]() I pivoted over to this fierce female founder's website for a free super savings report. ![]() Talk about a smack in the face with a wet wish…so many factors not considered…not worth listing them… Seemingly my superannuation balance was going to be only $150k more than it is now, I would run out 12 years after retirement – and a genuine trigger warning here – it gave me an estimated age of death which indicated I would have another 15 years to live and with no superannuation. I answered honestly even though the previous information made me think I should be working until 90.Īged inputted. It asked me if I wanted to generate a graph showing my superannuation trajectory and asked me to input the age I’d like to retire. I was surprised to see a MAJOR pay cut I was unaware of and was wondering where the remaining 70% of my superannuation was…bias much? It then kindly automatically pre-filled my income and superannuation balance with averages. Alarm bells are now ringing big time as they clearly HAVE this information. My current super fund (nothing to do with Super Fierce - I'm still in an old employers default fund.) then asked me two questions – gender and age. So, I barrelled into the portal for my current fund and noticed a new feature, a retirement superannuation predictor. She scared the bejesus out of me about mine and I made a mental note to address it ASAP (more about her shortly…) She said, “Run your superannuation statement through our platform for a free super savings report”. I was fortunate enough to meet a fierce female founder, passionate about superannuation, a few weeks ago. But I know there is hope for my superannuation! As a side note, never been known to keep a plant alive. It dawned on me that on a personal level, the endgame financially is superannuation and I have not been watering the pot plants on this one. ![]() Working in corporate advisory, capital raising, growth and expansion, there is one question infamously the most relevant to ask a founder when you meet them for the first time…what is your endgame? IPO? Trade sale? Merger? With that in mind, I work together with my patients to identify and help meet their personal wellness objectives. As a financially savvy 30-something (a girl can dream) who is surrounded by commercial activity all day, and indeed leads much of it, there is one thing I’ve really given ZERO thought to as it’s one of those things that I thought would or could take care of itself…my superannuation.Īt this point I realise half of you are going (in your heads or perhaps out loud) – what planet are you on Kate?! Whilst a consistently debatable point in itself, the good news is I’m back on planet earth now. I have learned that my goals as a physician must be aligned with my patients' goals for us to have a successful partnership. I am passionate about educating my patients and my community on the positive impact new lifestyle habits have on our health and well-being. ![]() She says she knows "that there is much more to achieving good health than can be found in lab values and test results.
